Carving Pumpkins

Yep, those 2 cute little pumpkins that my 2 cute little pumpkins picked out at the pumpkin patch lost their filling today.

Beatrix dug into hers.

And, Charlotte dug into hers. I don't want to make anyone feel :mrpukey:, but Charlotte was eating the pumpkin filling, seeds and all. Yuck!

Yep, there she goes.

Mama helped out.

Mama and Auntie helped out.

Beatrix drew the face on her pumpkin. I think it looks pretty good.

St. Paul's School Halloween Party & Parade

A nice, crisp day for the Teddy Bear Halloween Party & Parade. The kids paraded around the circle out front, showing off their fabulous costumes. Of course, it's not easy getting 14 kids to stand still and smile for the camera. It doesn't really bother me so much because sometimes it makes for the best photos.

I signed up to host the Halloween Party, so I put together goodie bags and made rice crispy treat deserts. While working on these, I couldn't help but remember how much I wished my own mom was my room parent when I was in school. I'm so glad to have the opportunity to participate in my child's school. As an adult, I know, this type of stuff is not or was not for my mother. I still love her all the same and realize all the numerous other ways she showed she cared.

They started the day with a costume parade around the circle out front.

Then, they went inside for yummy treats and a craft.

And, what Halloween Party would be a party without reading the book...

Frank Was a Monster Who Wanted to Dance?!?!

The kids loved it, and my co-room parent, Chastiti, did a fabulous job reading this delightful book.

You know what's coming...that's right, a video!

And, another one...group photo.

Houston Symphony's "Masquerade Ball"

What a busy weekend we had! 4 birthday parties, a family fellowship dinner for church, the symphony, a visit with Omi, and church all in 2 days. I knew this was going to be a rushed weekend, and it was, but at least it was fun for the kids. Well, maybe it was more fun for Bea than Charlie.

Steven took Beatrix to the "Masquerade Ball" at the Houston Symphony. She enjoyed the music, but did say at some point that it was too loud and prevented her from falling asleep.

Pumpkin Patch

Tonight we headed over to Memorial Drive United Methodist Church so the girls could each pick out a pumpkin. The sun was making it's way down quickly, so we didn't have much time, and of course, we wanted pictures.

Bea and Charlie enjoyed running around and touching the pumpkins, and picking up the ones they could (and sometimes dropping them on the ground *shhh*).

What a lovely evening to peruse the pumpkin patch. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't hot either. Nice breeze.

This is the closest they got to both sitting down.

Charlie enjoyed sitting on the pumpkins.

And, they each picked a pumpkin.

One stuck a head here.

And, another here.

Together they looked like this.

Charlie decided to lay down...

and get all dirty...

Since there are so few pictures of me with my girls...

Grandparents' Day at St. Paul's School

Beatrix enjoyed a fun morning showing her Omi her Teddy Bear classroom and sitting with her at the chapel service.

Beatrix and Omi

Beatrix was to fill out the top of the paper that asked her what is her favorite thing to do at school. She said "playdoh". Omi was to fill out the bottom of the paper that asked her what was her favorite thing to do when she was three years old.

After thinking briefly, Omi said she loved to swing. Beatrix lit up, and told her that she loves to swing too. And, she does. She has loved to swing since she was very little. She must have gotten on the swing every day at recess last school year, because her teachers ended up having to teach her how to pump her legs, or they would spend the entire time at recess pushing her.

Beatrix chose a book she wanted Omi to read to her.

And, she enjoyed sitting with Omi at the chapel service. We listened to a bible story and sang songs. Beatrix got to go with Omi to the book fair at school afterwards to pick out a few books, but then it was time to go back to class, and she wasn't all that happy about saying bye to her Omi.

Bea's Book

Bea is into writing her own books lately. She wrote one at the end of last week that she left at school. This morning she asked to write another one. So here it is...

"And they lived happily ever after....I hope."

American Girls

Saturday, we celebrated 3 special girls' birthdays at the American Girl store in Dallas. Beatrix and Hayley are celebrating their 4th and 8th birthday in late November, while Hannah is celebrating her 5th birthday in late December.

We had a fabulous day of shopping, visiting, oohing and awing over way too much stuff, and dining at the American Girl Bistro.

Miss Beatrix had to be reigned in quite a bit. She was a tad overwhelmed, and I'm quite certain at some point she thought she was going to leave with everything in the store. Not quite. She got Molly's English friend, Emily and each of their dogs, Yank and Bennett, along with a few other accessories.

We were lucky at this point to get a photo of her sitting still.

Molly got a makeover at the American Girl Salon. She got her ears pierced and her hair styled.

We are pretty sure that Molly enjoyed her makeover.

Hannah, Hayley, and Beatrix showing off their dolls' new looks.

This little tike wasn't as impressed with the store. Though, I suspect she would have been had she been allowed down to roam and dishevel the place!

The birthday girls pose for a picture.

All 6 girls sitting at the table for lunch.

A little birthday cookie with a candle for Beatrix. Hayley and Hannah had birthday ice cream.

The girls having fun!

Even Molly enjoyed taunting Charlotte from atop the stroller.

The birthday girls get one last picture outside the store with their Aunts and Moms.
